Kazakhstan "Korkyt" The Ensemble of Traditional Music

The Kazakhstan “Korkyt” Ensemble of Traditional Music was founded in 2015 under the Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic of Nur-Sultan Akimat to serve the people and has established a unique identity and style within the national ethnic music scene. The ensemble is led by Sholpan Korganbek, an honored educator and cultural figure in Kazakhstan, and a respected member of the Composers Union of Kazakhstan.

The ensemble’s repertoire, curated by Korganbek, features genres of Kazakh folk literature, including instrumental music, poetry, and love songs. Their masterfully composed folk pieces capture vivid imagery and beauty, presenting new tones.

Along their creative journey, the Korkyt ensemble has toured around the world, showcasing Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage to audiences worldwide. Their performances have graced numerous international stages, including the Silk Road Music Festival in China, the Astana Cultural Days in Moscow, the “Music Stories of Mongolian, Eurasian, and Tianshan” International Music Festival in China’s Taiwan, and the “Kazakhstan Through the Eyes of Photographers” International Exhibition in the United States. They were also a key part of the Astana Street unveiling ceremony in Amman, Jordan.
