LIN Daye/Conductor
Lin Daye holds prominent positions serving as the music director and chief conductor of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the artistic director and chief conductor of the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra as well as special guest conductor of the China National Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he is a professor of Composition & Conducting department at Shanghai Conservatory of Music and recognized as adjunct professor at the he Chinese University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Conservatory of Music. He is also a key member of the Shanghai municipal-level innovation team "First-Class Orchestra Talent Training and Practice". He is a council member of the Chinese Musicians Association and a member of the Shanghai Youth Federation.
Throughout his career, Lin has received numerous accolades, including the He Lüting Art Achievement Award in 2020 and 2022, the National Arts Fund Young Performing Artist Award in 2020, and the first prize at the 6th George Solti International Conducting Competition in 2012. Notably, in 2023, he was honored with the title of Top Ten Outstanding Youth of Shenzhen.
Lin's journey began with prestigious mentors such as Professor Xu Xin from the Central Conservatory of Music, Professor Zhang Guoyong from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and Professor Christian Ehwald from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, Germany, where he earned the Konzertexam certificate.
Since 2009, he has served as the resident conductor of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by a tenure as the permanent conductor of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra from 2010 to 2015. In 2012, Lin's exceptional talent shone at the 6th George Solti International Conducting Competition in Frankfurt, Germany, making him the first Chinese recipient of this prestigious honor. That same year, he was also recognized with the "Outstanding Contribution Award for Excellent Musicians in Guangdong Province" by the Musicians Association of Guangdong Province.
Lin Daye's dedication to music education led him back to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in September 2015, where he currently serves as a professor in the conducting department. In May 2016, he assumed the role of music director and chief conductor of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, leading the orchestra on both domestic and international tours to countries such as such as the Germany, United States, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Canada, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and more. As well as participates in prestigious international music festivals such as the Ljubljana Festival, Radiro - International Radio Orchestras Festival, Emilia Romagna Festival, Merano Festival, Donizetti Festival, Festival delle Nazioni, Shanghai Spring International Music Festival among other international music festivals. His recent tour with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra in the United Kingdom in March 2024 received widespread acclaim from critics and audience.

Eivind Gullberg Jensen/Conductor
Eivind Gullberg Jensen is equally comfortable on the concert platform as the opera house stage, having been appointed Chief Conductor of Noord Nederlands Orkest (starting from 2022/23 season) and Artistic and General Director of Bergen National Opera since 2021. An experienced conductor with an extensive repertoire range, he was the Chief Conductor of the NDR Radiophilharmonie for five years and is recognised for his knowledgeable and insightful interpretations.
During the 2023/24 season, Jensen appears with Orchestra Philharmonique de Monte Carlo with violinist Valeriy Sokolov, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, NDR Radiophilharmonie and Orchestre National Des Pays de la Loire. He further develops his relationship with the Royal Danish Opera as conductor in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and maintains his prestigious position of Artistic Director with the Bergen National Opera. He also forges ahead with his second season with Noord Nederlands Orkest, which shall include the world premiere of a violin concerto by Karmit Fadael with Pieter Van Loenen as soloist.
Jensen has notably conducted Berliner Philharmoniker, Münchner Philharmoniker and WDR Sinfonieorchester in Germany, Philharmonia Orchestra in London, Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Royal Stockholm and Netherlands Radio Philharmonic orchestras, Orchestre de Paris and Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. In recent seasons, Jensen has debuted in North America with Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, alongside appearances with Utah Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, Minnesota and Oregon symphony orchestras. He returned to Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, Kristiansand Symfoniorkester, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and Aarhus Symphony Orchestra.
Jensen conducted the French premiere of Waiting, a dramatised concert based on Peer Gynt by Calixto Bieito and Karl Ove Knausgård, with soprano Mari Eriksmoen and the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra in Strasbourg’s Opera National du Rhin.
Recently he has worked with internationally renowned soloists such as Gil Shaham, Leif Ove Andsnes, Truls Mørk, Alice Sara Ott, Javier Perianes, Hélène Grimaud, Gautier Capuçon, Sol Gabetta, Alban Gerhardt, Hilary Hahn, Gabriela Montero, Emmanuel Pahud, Yefim Bronfman, Alexander Toradze, Vadim Repin, Viktoria Mullova, Renaud Capuçon, Frank Peter Zimmermann, Mari Eriksmoen, Charlotte Hellekant, Albert Dohmen and Guy Braunstein.
Opera has been a strong presence throughout Jensen’s career. In 2008, he shared a production of Fidelio with Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Claudio Abbado, to critical acclaim. Other opera highlights include Festival d'Aix-en-Provence with the new Simon McBurney production of The Rake’s Progress, the Wiener Staatsoper with Tosca and Rusalka, Opéra de Lille with Die Zauberflöte and Der fliegende Holländer, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma with Rusalka, English National Opera with Janáček’s Jenůfa, Il corsaro and Rusalka for Opernhaus Zürich, as well as Rusalka, Eugene Onegin and La bohème (in Stefan Herheim's production) at Den Norske Opera.
Eivind Gullberg Jensen studied conducting in Stockholm with Jorma Panula, and in Vienna with Leopold Hager. Previously, he studied violin and musical theory in Trondheim, Norway.

He equally enjoys giving recitals and playing chamber music and is a regular guest at festivals and in concert halls throughout Europe (among others at the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ in Amsterdam, the Kronberg Academy, the Evian Festival, the Kaposfest and at Schloß Elmau), Asia and the USA (among others at Kennedy Center, Washington D.C., 92Y in New York, La Jolla in San Diego, the ChamberFest Cleveland and the Nevada Chamber Music Festival).
His chamber music partners include Gil Shaham, Kian Soltani, James Ehnes, Clemens Hagen, Yuja Wang, Noah Bendix-Balgley, Máté Szücs, Miroslav Sekera, Tomáš Jamník, Suzana Bartal, Kristóf Baráti and Sharon Kam.
Supraphon released a highly praised recording of the violin concertos of Dvořák and Janáček, coupled with the Fantasy of Suk, with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jiří Bělohlávek. The Sunday Times wrote: “The violinist’s individual, deeply considered and virtuosic account of Dvorak’s solo part is the highlight of this keenly conceived programme”, adding that “in this repertoire, Špaček is second to none today.” It was the “Recording of the week” of The Sunday Times, “Recording of the month & of the year” of MusicWeb International and it received 5* in Diapason. Other recordings to date are a recital disc with works for violin and piano by Smetana, Janáček and Prokofiev with pianist Miroslav Sekera (Supraphon), works for violin solo and violin and piano by H.W. Ernst (Naxos) and an early CD with the complete Sonatas for Solo Violin by Eugène Ysaÿe.
Josef Špaček studied with Itzhak Perlman at The Juilliard School in New York, Ida Kavafian and Jaime Laredo at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and with Jaroslav Foltýn at the Prague Conservatory. He was laureate of the International Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, and won top prizes at the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in New Zealand, the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition in Denmark and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York.
He has served as concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the youngest in its history. The orchestra named him “Associate Artist” as of January 2016. He left this post at the end of the 2019/20 season to devote himself exclusively to his solo career.
Josef Špaček performs on the ca. 1732 “LeBrun; Bouthillard” Guarneri del Gesù violin, generously on loan from Ingles & Hayday.
He lives in Prague with his wife and their three children. In his spare time he enjoys cycling.

YU Le/Marimba
Le YU is currently serving as Programme Director of Percussion, Deputy Director of International Relations Office, and Deputy Director of Orchestra Office at the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.
Born in China, Le has traveled around the world as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician and a educator. He has also enjoyed success in competitions including Gold Medal at China National Percussion Competition; the Winner of Italy PAS International Percussion Competition 2009 and the Yamaha European Scholarship Competition 2012. He has been awarded as a Young Artist of Philanthropy in China by UNESCO in 2019.
Le has performed in front of the British Royal Family at the 60th Royal Over-seas League Competition Award Ceremony in London’s Southbank Centre, where he won the first prize in the mixed ensemble category with his Aurora Percussion Duo, they have also won the Park Lane Group Competition at Southbank Centre. The duo has been chosen by “Live Music Now” to deliver exciting projects to special educational needs across the UK. The Duo has been invited to play at some of the best venues and festivals including Edinburgh International Festival, BBC In Tune, Cambridge Music Festival, Bridgewater Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, RNCM Day of Percussion, and many more.
As a concerto soloist, Le has premièred a number of concertos including Keiko Abe’s The Wave marimba concerto in Asia, the UK, and America. He has worked with Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, BBC Singers, and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. Le performed live on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 2, BBC Manchester, European Television 4, and CCTV Music. Le was a Soloist of the 2016 World Percussion Group, he has been given Solo recitals, Masterclasses, and ensemble concerts across the USA.
Since 2016, Le is a jury member of the China National Percussion Competition, Royal Philharmonic Society Award, Southern Percussion International Competition, and Croatia International Percussion Competition Rhythm-O-Phonia. He has been invited to give Masterclasses in the United States, Mexico, Singapore, the UK, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, and Europe.
Le is also the Professor of Marimba at the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK, where he was the Deputy Director of Percussion from 2019 until 2022. He was also the Marimba/Solo Percussion tutor at Chetham’s School of Music from 2018-2022, his pupil Fang Zhang has won the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2020. Le also holds Visiting Professorship at Wuhan, Xi’an and Shenyang Conservatory of Music in China. He was the first percussionist who has been awarded an Associate Member of the Royal Northern College of Music in 2020.
He is a Yamaha Artist, Sabian Artist, and Kolberg Artist.

Olga Peretyatko, one of the world’s most sought-after sopranos, made her international breakthrough when she became a prize-winner at Plácido Domingo’s prestigious Operalia Competition. Since then, she has been a regular guest at nearly all most important opera houses, concert halls and festivals, including La Scala, Saatsoper Berlin, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, The Bolshoi Theatre, The Metropolitan Opera, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Berlin Philharmonic, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Teatro Colón, and many others.
The uniquely compelling voice and stage presence allow Ms. Peretyatko to interpret a wide range of operatic roles from humorous to tragic. She has collaborated with the most renowned stage directors and conductors of our times. Her most notable artistic partners include Kirill Petrenko, Zubin Mehta, Valery Gergiev, Yuri Temirkanov, Lorin Maazel, Alberto Zedda, Daniel Barenboim, Dmitry Tcherniakov, and Robert Lepage, whose acclaimed 2009 production of Stravinsky’s Le Rossignol in Toronto confirmed her star status.
Ms. Peretyatko’s performance under the Eiffel Tower for the Bastille Day celebrations has attracted a live audience of 600,000 people and an international TV audience of several million viewers. She has released six critically acclaimed albums on Sony Classical and has received numerous prestigious awards, including OPUS Klassik (2018), ECHO Klassik (Best Solo Album, 2015), and Premio Franco Abbiati della Critica Musicale Italiana.
Her latest recording project is perhaps her most personal and unusual experiment of her extraordinary career so far. Produced by the legendary Russian label Melodiya, this album is dedicated to her first-born daughter Maya, who came into the world in January 2021. It brings together 23 lullabies from different corners of the world, personally selected by Olga and sung in their original languages. These include music by composers like Mozart, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Wagner, as well as such superhits as Gershwin’s Summertime and even ancient ethnic chants. It also features an original track Mantra, created by Ms. Peretyatko and her pianist Semjon Skigin.
Olga Peretyatko was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia and started her musical journey singing in the children’s choir of the Mariinsky Theatre. Having earned a performance degree as a choir conductor, she went on to study singing at the Hanns Eisler-Hochschule für Musik in Berlin, the opera studio at the Hamburg State Opera, and the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, Italy.

ZHAO Cong/Pipa
With a stellar reputation in the international classical music community, Zhao Cong, president of the China National Traditional Orchestra (CNTO) and the orchestra's Principal Pipa Player, is a celebrated national first-class artist and a composer sponsored by the CNAF. With a deep commitment to promoting Chinese traditional music, Zhao has worked to introduce the world to the art of pipa performance. Balancing tradition with innovation, she has made pioneering achievements, making her an icon of Chinese musicians on the global stage. She also serves as a delegate to the 20th CPC National Congress and a member of the National Committee of the CPPCC. Zhao holds several other prominent roles; she is a member of the 13th Standing Committee of the All-China Youth Federation; director of the CPPCC's Culture and Arts Committee; Vice Chairman of the 1st Committee of the Youth Federation of the Central and State Organs; Board Member of the China Musicians Association; Vice President of the Pipa Society; Visiting Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the China Conservatory of Music; and the Advisor to Peking University Art Troupe. Zhao is also the first artist-scholar to visit Stanford University and a visiting artist-scholar at Cambridge University. Having been awarded as Maestro Performer of International World Music Instruments Zhao also judged for the CNAF Competition, CCTV Folk Music Competition, the International Chinese Instrumental Music Competition, and other events. She is one of the first composers to receive key sponsorship from the CNAF and was awarded Distinguished Artist of China Day by Harvard University; Moreover, Zhao is also a Distinguished Professor at Fudan University and an expert receiving special government allowance from the State Council. She has been recognized as a "Cultural Master" by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, included in the "Four Batches" talent program, and approved as an outstanding academic pacesetter. Graduating from the Central Conservatory of Music in 2000, Zhao took the Training Class for Senior Specialists at Peking University to learn arts management in 2015.
Zhao has performed in over fifty countries and regions including Europe, America, Asia, and Australia. More than 40 foreign heads of state have heard her performance of pipa. She has won numerous awards, including First Prize awards in the National Competition for Professional Young Pipa Performers, the Ministry of Culture's Personal Contribution Award for Overseas Cultural Promotion, and the Gold Award at the San Jose International World Music Competition in the United States. Her works include albums such as Carmen, Sound of China, Forever Sutra, and New Talks of Pipa. Her pipa concertos Flying Apsaras on the Silk Road and Fortune and Happiness for Ever as well as her pipa suite Golden Melody from the Orient are among her original compositions. Sound of China became the first Chinese traditional instrumental solo album released by Universal Music Group and is now housed in both the National Library of China and the Library of Congress in the United States. Zhao's innovative "backpack pipa" design has earned a national patent. Her original pipa solo piece Flying Apsaras on the Silk Road was recognized as one of the first outstanding projects sponsored by the CNAF. International media have praised the piece as a powerful Chinese work that boasts global musical vocabulary. Fortune and Happiness for Ever was included in the "Symphony of the Times" Chinese Symphonic Music Composition Support Program by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China. In 2022, she created the metaverse-inspired music piece Sanxingdui: Divine Bird and has also composed works such as the songs Red Flag Raising, Kunpeng's Ambition, and the pipa piece Winter's Charm. Her representative works include The New Ambush from Ten Sides and The Red Flame Tassel.
As a representative of Chinese music, Zhao showcased the charm of Chinese music to world leaders at significant state events, including the "Hangzhou Memories" concert at the 2016 G20 Summit and the 2017 Belt and Road Forum. In 2019, she performed at the concert commemorating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia in Moscow, attended by the heads of both states.
The Guardian argues, "Zhao Cong's perfect performance fills Chinese folk music with hope". International recording master and Chair of the Jury for AFRAS, Hans Nelson, called her "a top-level musician with world-class performance skills." Former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd told Zhao that her music moved him so much that he had to stand while listening. Shen Danyang, Vice President of International Markets at Universal Music Group, noted, "Zhao's music reveals new possibilities for Chinese folk music and gives us strength; she inspires us to introduce Chinese music to the world." Zhao has been featured in multiple special reports by major media outlets such as American television networks and the Kennedy Center, earning her the title of "Music Diplomat." "Zhao Chong uses the pipa to showcase the beauty of contemporary Chinese music to the world, making outstanding contributions to the global promotion of Chinese music."

Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO)
The Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) was founded in 1982 during a transformative period in China, characterized by reform and opening up. Over the ensuing decades, the SZSO has ascended to prominence, becoming one of China’s outstanding symphony orchestras. The guiding philosophy of "first-class pursuit, public service, and dual focus on performance and creation" has been instrumental in its success.
Under the leadership of the music director and principal conductor Lin Daye, the SZSO has earned widespread recognition both domestically and internationally.
Since 1987, the orchestra has embarked on annual tours, performing across China and internationally in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The SZSO has graced stages in numerous countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, India, Romania, and South Africa. These performances have solidified its status as a cultural ambassador for Shenzhen.
The SZSO’s influence extends to major local and international festivals. Since 1994, it has participated in prestigious events such as the China Art Festival, the China-International Piano Concerto Competition, the World Buddhist Forum, and the Beijing Modern Music Festival. Its international acclaim is reflected in successful appearances at the Istanbul Music Festival, Italy Mittelfest, the Ravello Wagner Music Festival, the French Dinard Music Festival, and the Romanian International Radio Music Festival, among others.
A cornerstone of the SZSO's mission is the commissioning and promotion of national symphonic works. Through symphonic music, the orchestra tells the rich and diverse stories of China. Notable commissioned works include New Era Symphonic Overtures, Ode to Heroes, My Motherland, Ode to Humanity, Harmony of the Divine Land, and Symphonic Folksongs, Hakka Rhyme. Co-commissioned works such as The Light of Mind and A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains have also received high praise from industry experts, audiences, and the media.
